Today, on the sixteenth of Frimaire in the seventh year of the French Republic (06 Dec 1798) at seven o'clock in the morning there appeared before ourself, SPANG, Agent of the community of Nunkirchen, Peter JOHENTGEN, farmer, accompanied by Jacob GLASSER/GLAESSER, aged 60 years, farmer, and Mathias ZIMMER, 33 years old, farmer, all of Nunkirchen, and he stated before me, SPANG, Agent, that his lawful wedded wife, Anna Barbara Mauer, this morning at two o'clock was delivered of a child of male sex to whom he has given the name of FRANTZ.
As a result of this declaration, which the citizens GLASSER/GLAESSER and ZIMMER have certified as truthful, and after said child was shown to me, I made out the present document, which Peter JOHENTGEN, father of the child, and the two witnesses Jacob GLASSER/GLAESSER and Mathias ZIMMER, signed together with me.

Birth certificate of Nicholaus JOHANTGEN, born at Wadern on the fifteenth at six o'clock in the forenoon, one thousand eight hundred twenty-six, of Franz JOHANTGEN, saddler by occupation, and his wife Katharina DIETZEN, resident at Wadern.
The sex of the child shown to me is recognized to be male.
First witness: Johann KLAESER, forty years old, by occupation a nailsmith, resident at Wadern.
Second witness: Franz Joseph NAACHER, thirty-five years old, by occupation an innkeeper, resident at Wadern.
This document made out upon the request made by the aforementioned father Franz JOHANTGEN, twenty-eight years old, and they signed.

The sex of this child is recognized to be male.
